Space Saving Air Bicycle Parking

Overview: The idea of space saving from bicycle parking lots was found on a trip to Copenhagen and other parts of Europe. The major problem of the public bicycle parking was lack of space in the public and disturbance in public spacing. The goal of this project is to create a public bike parking space to provide free space to citizens and simple parking design to offer clean aesthetics of the city.

Objective: Providing a solution to the massive amount of the bike parking space in public may result in clean and organized city design. Including, additional free space will provide to the city from minimalizing bike parking lots.

Target Audience: Countries with most bicycles per capita

Timeline: Find the broken design by Jun 6th and deliver materials by Jul. 26th

Deliverable: Concept design and 3D Design

Additional Information: The cost of design has not confirmed nor finalized, yet the price should be reason enough to pursue the current project with a reasonable purpose.

Treatment: The aesthetic design of this project must be simple, clean, minimal, and easy to use for 16 and above

Solution :

To free the ground space from massive amount of bike parking can be solve by removing bike from the ground. It is possible to build underground bike parking, however it will cost time and money than having regular bike parking on the ground. Therefore, Utilizing the vanished and existing underground car parking lots to create bike air parking space. This will provide free ground pace to the city and will fully use underground and vanished area with full potential.

Air Bike Parking is design to use for age of 16 to above. The parking system is designed to use no man power, but machines. Thus, teenagers, pregnant woman, and elders can easily park their bike with easy simple steps.

First, head up to machine next to the bike parking and purchase parking ticket ( The ticket is the way to return the bike)

Second, Press "Park"

Third, Take your bike to where tire hook is coming down

Fourth, Push the hook to the front tire of your bike. Make sure you hear the sound of click

Fifth, Go back to the machine and press "Park in the Air"

Six, You may watch your bike going up to the air parking lots

Color coded for bike parking spots and numbers for locations. The parking is paid to store safely in the air. The height of the parking is high enough to secure the bike easily with no additional cost and materials. The parking must be paid to use privately and bikes can not be parked no more than 24 hrs. This solution will also prevent bikes getting wet and freeze during cold seasons.
